Board of Assessment:
To file an appeal from the board of assessments, you must file a "PETITION AND A DECREE, VERIFICATION" and a copy of the board's decision. You must file an original and a copy. The fee is $239.00.
The Higher Court:
To appeal the Superior or Commonwealth Court, you must file a "NOTICE OF APPEAL", "PROOF OF SERVICE", and a copy of the docket entries. You must list the complete caption: No [ET AL] in the caption. Also be sure that the judge is served. You must file an original and a copy. There are two fees, $49.50 to the Prothonotary, and $60.00 to the Higher Court. Please send 2 checks, one for each office. Driver's License or Vehicle Registration Suspension:
To appeal a suspension, you must file a "PETITION", an "ORDER" verification and a copy of the letter from the Department of Transportation. The fee is $239.00. [The PRO SE appeal form is available in the Court Administrator's Office] A traffic citation must be appealed in the Clerk of Court's Office. The suspension is filed with the Prothonotary. Fees may be paid by Cash, Certified Check or Money Order, or an Attorney's Check. No personal or business checks will be accepted.
Zoning Hearing:
To appeal a ruling from the Zoning Hearing Board, file a "PETITION" and a copy of the board's decision. You must file an original and a copy. The fee is $239.00. Be sure to include all the appropriate addresses.
District Justice:
To appeal the ruling of a District Justice, you must file an "APPEAL" form prescribed by the Pennsylvania Court Administrator, along with the "NOTICE OF JUDGMENT" issued by the District Justice for each person or company. The Appeal must be filed within thirty (30) days after date of judgment. Possession of Real Property from a Residential Lease must be appealed within ten (10) days. The fee is $239.25.
